That's A Wrap!

Knee wraps for pain are most commonly worn by powerlifters and bodybuilders.

A knee wrap is made of an elastic material that is typically found in wrist wraps. They are designed to be wrapped around the knee in a spiral or diagonal method for use in squats.

Our knee wraps in Collingwood allow more weight to be lifted while squatting. The knee wrap for pain reduces the stress and force on the quadricep tendon because when a person squats, the tendon pulls on the patella or knee. This is why so many power lifters choose to wear knee wraps to avoid unwanted injuries.

Knee braces are supports that you wear for a painful or injured knee. Some people use them to prevent knee injuries during sports. Braces are made from combinations of metal, foam, plastic, elastic material and straps. Where there has been damage sustained to the ligaments then there will be instability which compromises your ability to walk, run and jump.

Wearing a knee stabilizer to manage walking and daily activities can help to keep people on their feet as the straps act as external ligaments. There are two types of knee stabilizers available in our Collingwood store, a soft support and a rigid support. The soft support is material such as neoprene and the rigid support is a solid frame which protects against impact damage.

There are many kinds of knee injury supports in Collingwood that include hinged braces, compression or sleeves, wraparounds, bands/straps, and of course custom knee braces. All of these kinds of braces can be used to offer knee injury support.
